At the heart of Roma Italian Kitchen is the DiNuzzo family legacy, a story of passion for Italian cuisine that spans generations. Our roots trace back to 1962, when grandparents Mike and Angelina DiNuzzo founded Mike’s Pizzeria at West and Shields avenues in Fresno—a beloved spot still operated by family members today. Owner Andrew DiNuzzo, inspired by this heritage, carries forward recipes passed down from old Italy, infusing them with fresh, local ingredients to create house-made dishes that honor tradition while embracing creativity. Named after Andrew’s daughter, Roma, the restaurant embodies family values, with even young Roma learning the ropes and sharing her favorite bites. “I was born and raised there,” Andrew reflects on his upbringing in the family business, emphasizing that “everything we do here is made in-house.” This commitment ensures every plate tells a story of generational craftsmanship, from sauces simmered to perfection to pastas crafted with care.
Our menu celebrates the breadth of Italian culinary artistry, featuring an array of appetizers, pastas, sandwiches, calzones, salads, and desserts—all prepared fresh daily. Start with shareable starters like the Meatball Appetizer in meat sauce with mozzarella, Fried Calamari with cocktail sauce, or Garlic Parmesan Fries for a crispy twist. Dive into Roma’s Favorites, such as the signature RCBA—rigatoni tossed with grilled chicken, bacon, and creamy alfredo, a top seller for years—or the Spicy Carbonara, a bold take on the classic with chicken, bacon, peas, and spicy pink alfredo. For something unique, try the Mushroom Agnolotti in marsala cream or Chicken Parmesan served with spaghetti.
Explore our rotating Specialty Pastas, like Frutti Di Mare with linguini, clams, shrimp, and white fish in spicy red sauce, or Linguini Clam in white wine lemon cream. Stuffed Pastas shine with options such as Lasagna layered with beef, pork, mozzarella, and ricotta; Meat Tortellini in butter red garlic sauce; or Cheese Ravioli with alfredo. Don’t miss the San Francisco Squares, focaccia-style personal pizzas with daily specials like pepperoni topped with basil and enzo chili oil. Sandwiches include the hearty Italian Beef with thinly sliced beef, onions, peppers, and au jus, while salads like the Italian Chopped offer fresh greens with salami, pepperoni, and mozzarella. Calzones, such as the Nonna Special packed with salami, pepperoni, beef, onions, and peppers, round out the savory selections. End sweetly with Tiramisu or Cannoli.
Seasonal specials keep things exciting, from eggplant parm and homemade gnocchi to butternut squash raviolis and clam chowder, encouraging guests to “venture and travel the menu.” Creative twists, like a cordon bleu-inspired chicken dish stuffed with blue cheese, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, and garlic, showcase Andrew’s innovation while staying true to Italian roots.
Beyond the food, Roma Italian Kitchen is about community and connection. We prioritize high-quality, in-house preparations in a space that feels like home, fostering gatherings over meals that nourish body and soul. Whether you’re enjoying a family dinner or a casual lunch, our dedication to authentic, generational recipes ensures every visit is memorable. Join us and taste the DiNuzzo difference—where old Italy meets Fresno’s heart.
